New owners - Motueka Rudolf Steiner School Trust
Veda Organics is now proudly owned by the Motueka Rudolf Steiner School Trust (MRSST) and managed by Mihau and Valetta Sówka (Our Living Footprints Ltd). This new chapter brings Veda into a wider vision - nurturing land, community, and future generations through a living connection between farming and education.
As part of the school’s working farm, Veda is now woven into our commitment to regenerative land stewardship and Waldorf education. Our aim is to create a place where students, families, and the wider community can engage with the seasons, the soil, and the real work of growing food.
A legacy of care
Veda Organics was lovingly founded by Ben (Balarama) and Romany (Rati), who nurtured Veda Organics with integrity, intention, and deep respect for nature. Their 14-year commitment to ethical, organic, and animal-friendly growing practices laid a strong and beautiful foundation - one we are honoured to build upon.

Mihau and Valetta
We (Mihau and Valetta Sowka) bring hands-on experience in organic farming, land stewardship, and community-based enterprise. Now raising our three children on the land, we’re committed to building a productive, regenerative farm for the Motueka Rudolf Steiner School Trust.
With a small, dedicated team, we grow food that connects people to place and purpose. While most of our vege box produce currently comes from other trusted organic growers, our long-term vision is to supply the majority from our own market garden and food forest—right here on the school farm.

Peter
Peter is the face of our Nelson Market stall. Originally from Austria, Peter brings a wealth of experience, a love for organic produce and healthy living, and a friendly face to the Nelson Market stall. He tends to our market stall and Nelson customers with joy and dedication.
Rooted in community, growing together
We’re always happy to share what we do and why we do it. Visit us at the Nelson Market or get in touch if you’d like to know more about our farm, vege boxes, or future plans.
