About Veda Organics

What does 'Veda' mean

The name Veda (pronounced "Vay-da") comes from Sanskrit and loosely translates to “timeless wisdom” or “eternal knowledge.” It reflects a way of seeing the world - one that honours the deep intelligence of nature and the cycles that have sustained life for millennia.

This guiding principle was central to the vision of Veda’s original founders, and it remains at the heart of what we do today.

Now part of the Motueka Rudolf Steiner School farm, Veda Organics continues to work with the rhythms of nature - growing food in ways that regenerate the land, respect the animals, and nourish both body and spirit. Whether it’s integrating compost, planting by the lunar calendar, using biodynamic preparations or inviting children to observe the garden’s changing seasons, we seek to align our work with the living wisdom already present in the soil.

In that sense, Veda isn’t just a name - it’s a reminder. To slow down. To listen. To farm with humility and care.
